“Amina” is a powerful visual and sonic experience expressed through the struggle and celebration of womanhood. Advocating strong social involvement, this journey finds its roots in Latin American and North African folklore, with the intention to bring to light the old and the new meaning of what it is to be born a woman.

This project combines solid folkloric/jazz and cinematography, creating different scenes and moods throughout the compositions, connecting them as they were scenes on a film.

Carolina began her musical studies at a young age, and she had the opportunity to sing with some of Argentina most recognized artist such as Juan Carlos Baglietto, Lito Vitale, Julia Zenko, Leon Gieco.

In her adolescence, she developed a broad taste for different musical styles from Latin America. In her education, she decided to pursue a career in film at the Universidad Nacional del Arte, where she discovered her passion for story telling through music and film.

Carolina’s career developed fast as a filmmaker and musician. She recorded with the nonet Projecto Nacarola and was able to perform in the most prestigious venues in Argentina such as Thelonious Club, Bebop Club, CC Konex, Centro Cultural San Martín, and was also invited to perform at the International Jazz Festival of Argentina.

Later on she was granted with a scholarship to become part of the distinguished program of The New School of Jazz and Contemporary Music.

She has and continues to perform with the Grammy award-winning musician Arturo O Farrill and the Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra.
