The Will of the City
Theatre for a New Audience and Saint Flashlight, a poetry project co-founded by 2019 Literature Grantee Drew Pisarra, present The Will of the City, poems inspired by playwright and poet William Shakespeare, launching running through the fall. The Will of the City is an installation activation that invited poets and playwrights alike to pen sonnets inspired by Shakespeare's plays. The results are now rolling out through the Fall on the giant LED monitors outside the Polonsky Shakespeare Center in Fort Greene. Among the contributors are Will Eno (who wrote a sonnet on The Winter's Tale) and 2020 Literature Grantee Diane Mehta (who penned a sonnet on Hamlet).
